چکیده
Aim. To evaluate the content of calprotectin and volatile fatty acids (VFAs) in feces patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Materials methods. 61 (33 men 28 women) IBD aged 20 to 66 years (the mean indicator was 41.80 ± 1.14 years) were examined. The treated Department Intestinal Diseases SI “Institute Gastroenterology National Academy Medical Sciences Ukraine”. All divided into two groups: Group I – 46 ulcerative colitis (UC) II 15 Crohn’s (CD). control group consisted 10 practically healthy people (donors). Calprotectin detection fecal samples carried out using a kit “Immundiagnostik”, Germany. Fecal VFAs analyzed hardware-software complex for medical research gas chromatograph Chromatek-Crystal 5000. Results. A significant increase found. Its amount depended on nosology more expressed UC (3.5 times higher (P < 0.05) than that CD). observed changes accompanied by an propionic (C3) acid decrease acetic (C2), butyric (C4) coprofiltrates examined patients. detected imbalance led acids, which pronounced CD. An association between levels VFA identified. Thus, correlation analysis allowed establish relationship (r = 0.370; P 0.046). Conclusions. In case active inflammation, there is (acetic acids) accordance degree activity, allows use these indicators assess efficacy therapies.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids, inflammatory processes and inflammatory bowel diseases.
With regard to inflammatory processes, the main fatty acids of interest are the n-6 PUFA arachidonic acid (AA), which is the precursor of inflammatory eicosanoids like prostaglandin E(2) and leukotriene B(4), and the n-3 PUFAs eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). EPA and DHA are found in oily fish and fish oils. EPA and DHA inhibit AA metabolism to inflammatory eicosanoid...

The Role of Fecal Calprotectin in Investigating Inflammatory Bowel Diseases
INTRODUCTION Invasive and non-invasive tests can be used to evaluate the activity of inflammatory bowel diseases. OBJECTIVE The aim of the present study was to investigate the role of fecal calprotectin in evaluating inflammatory bowel disease activity and the correlation of fecal calprotectin with the erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C reactive protein values in inflammatory bowel disease....

Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) are chronic intestinal disorders caused by a number of factors, including external influences, intestinal microbiota and genetics. The two major clinically defined types of IBD are Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, each of which is characterized by relapses in the clinical course, thus patients must be under constant observation via regular endoscopies. A...
متن کاملHomocysteine in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases.
BACKGROUND Hyperhomocysteinemia seems to be a common phenomenon in both patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. Many factors including deficiencies of cobalamin, folate and pyridoxine, smoking habits, alcohol and coffee intake, some medications and age may predispose subjects to hyperhomocysteinemia. The study aimed to evaluate homocysteine levels in an inflammatory bowel disease ...
